Crochet Vessels.

I love how crochet is really soft sculpture. And that there is almost a crossover with pottery. I made these bowls/vases on the weekend when I felt like a bit of mindless crochet... nothing tricky. The only thing is though, they don't hold water - who'da thunk it?
Lots and lots of love,

  2. Pretty! Love the combo of the silver with the red. They don't hold water, but if you crochet a sort of 'sock' around a real vase it looks the same but you can actually use it as a vase ;)

  3. I never thought of crochet bowls and things as sculpture before, but your right, they are!

  4. Love them. But I love even more your idea that crochet is like pottery. Seems so obvious now that someone has said it! No wonder I like it so much.

  5. You know the type of bouquets that come ready tied and arranged in a plastic bag of water? Firmly tied with rafia? I'm thinking of that and slotted into the crochet.....

  9. You can dry some roses or everlasting flowers, or try to crochet some flowers like Lucy's daffodils http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/crochet-daffodil.html as it is spring down under ;)

  11. There are some utterly amazing crochet patterns out there in the bloggosphere, of any kind of flower you can think of - your vases would make great holders for these - and you'd never have to worry about watering the flowers! :)
